Our Partners

Who We Work With & Why

We believe in forming partnerships that enable us to enhance our impact.

Three MPN organizations are key partrners at this time.

  • The Canadian MPN Network was founded in 2014.  The Canadian MPN Network strives to improve the quality of life for Canadian MPN patients and their support network through education, advocacy and support.  The Network includes 10 volunteer networks across Canada.

  • The Canadian MPN Group was founded as a charitable organization in 2013 by hematologists.  The Group’s mission is to improve the care and research for patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) through inter-professional collaboration.

  • The MPN Research Foundation (MPNRF) was founded in 1999 in the United States by a group of MPN patients determined to stimulate original research into the MPNs.
In 2025, MPNRF and CMPNRF announced a new collaboration in 2025 focused on improving outcomes for myeloproliferative neoplasm (MPN) patients in the U.S., Canada, and beyond.  “Our alliance will allow both organizations’ country-specific initiatives to thrive, while eliminating duplication of effort and maximizing efficient use of resources on important joint projects,” stated Kapila Viges, Chief Executive Officer of MPN Research Foundation.  Merrill Pierce, Chair of the CMPNRF Board, added, “United, we are more empowered to drive innovation and break new ground in MPN research, bringing us closer to a future without these diseases”.
MPNRF currently funds researchers worldwide and is actively developing relationships with patient groups outside of the United States. Under the collaboration, CMPNRF would join in these funding efforts, while retaining the ability to separately fund Canadian-based research.
“MPNRF and CMPNRF are proud and excited to embark on this partnership, and hope it is the first step of many more in bringing worldwide attention to MPNs”, noted Barbara Vanhusen, Chair of the MPNRF Board. “Together, we are committed to accelerating MPN research and making a lasting difference for patients around the globe.”

We are exploring partnerships that will enable us to move forward rapidly on research that will improve the lives of MPN patients.
